YOUTH BASEBALL

Registration is open for all baseball leagues. Get your registrations in by March 29th. If you would like to coach, please let us know!

Procedures for Youth Team Sports 

1. All teams are formed by the Ellis Rec. Commission.

2. Requests for youth to be placed on the same team as a friend or with a specific coach are considered, but not guaranteed.

3. All programs have a registration deadline. Late registration sign-ups may not request to be placed on a specific team.

4. Requests for three coaches to coach a team together are not allowed unless one of the coaches does not have a child participating in the program. 

5. Youth will be contacted by their coaches to when/where practices will be held as well as game schedules.

6. Our goal is to provide the opportunity for participation to all who enter, regardless of skill or ability level. ERC wishes to provide youth with a fun learning experience and the opportunity to develop lifetime leisure skills.

7.  Ellis Rec. Commission will conduct or require criminal background check procedures to all adults acting as coaches, instructors, and teachers.

Machine Pitch Baseball

The Machine Pitch league is an in-town league for participants entering 2nd - 5th grade.  All practices are held in Ellis and games played on weekday nights, depending on field availability.  The league may be altered depending upon registration.  If we do not have enough for an in town league, we will enter the Hays Rec. league.  

Western Kansas Baseball

Western Kansas baseball travels to surrounding communities and is for participants entering 5th - entering 7th grade.  All practices are held in Ellis. 

K-18 Baseball

K-18 Baseball will travel to surrounding communities. All practices are held in Ellis. League begins at the end of May. Participants must have a birth year of 2008-2011 to be eligible for K18 Baseball (13-16yrs old). All players are responsible for providing their own baseball glove, shoes and pants.

Legion Baseball

Players cannot turn 20 years old in 2022.  All participants must provide their own pants, shoes and glove.  Practices will be held in Ellis and play in surrounding communities.
